Wedding Packages

I have several wedding video production packages designed to match almost any budget, from super budget to premium. ALL PRICES BELOW ARE ESTIMATES, FINAL PRICES WILL NOT BE GIVEN UNTIL ALL PARTIES HAVE MET.

I have found that by taking a moment to educate clients about the nature of video production, in particular the unique challenges that occur when shooting a wedding is the best way for the client to decide if we might be a good fit to work together. Many clients decide to shoot a wedding without having any foreknowledge about video production. As you'll soon read, producing quality video goes way beyond that act of shooting. Two elements people often overlook are pre-production and post production (the editing process).

Taking time to do proper pre production assures that on the day of the shoot we are ready to handle any challenge that might occur and that we bring the right tools for the job. Is your wedding ceremony taking place at high noon in the middle of summer in an open meadow? Does the officiator of your wedding have certain restrictions on what's to be filmed and what's to be filmed because of religious tradition? Just taking the time to get to know a client helps us to formulate a unique approach to our shoot. Do you want drone coverage of your wedding? Did you check to see if the neighborhood has a local drone ordinance? Do we need to pull a permit for that? All of these things are what we do when we do pre-production for your wedding.

Post production is assembling all of the footage into finished pieces (in this case a highlight video or a feature video). The rule of thumb for videos is that usually every minute of footage is about 6-8 hours of editing. This is the aspect about video production budgets that most people don't know if this is their first time hiring a video producer. With weddings sometimes it's closer to 10-15 hours of editing per minute. Think about it this way. Let's say that you have two videographers capturing footage for your ceremony prep, the actual ceremony and the reception. The editor then needs to go through all of that footage, minute by minute to decide which cuts will go into the video. Then the editor assembles those cuts into a piece that is artistic and that flows easily on the eye. Finally the editor fine tunes the cut cut so that it matches music. The editor also fine tunes the audio mix so that it will play nicely on any given device. Once all that is done the editor will color correct every cut. Color correction is the process of making sure the color balance, exposures are correct and that various film looks are applied so that your final project looks more like an actual film than a digital video. Also, during this process we insert titles and motion graphics. So as you can see, most of the work actually takes place not on the day of the wedding but before and after. Typical rates for a competent video editor in the Bay Area are between 65 and 125 dollars per hour.
